Hola, I'm Sroush.

I'm Sroush. I live in Norway, which is about as far from Spain as you can get while still technically being in Europe. Funny how that works out. Somewhere between one trip and the next, I fell hard for the Spanish language, for the culture, and honestly, for the people too. It kind of snuck up on me.

There's a rhythm to Spanish that I still can't quite explain. Maybe it's the way it sounds, maybe it's just how alive everything feels when you're standing in a plaza at ten at night and the whole street is still out eating dinner. Whatever it is, it turned a travel habit into something closer to an obsession. I started studying the language properly. Reading about the culture for fun, not for a test. Always looking for the next city or region to sneak a trip to.

This site is me finally giving that obsession somewhere to live. I'll be writing about my own language learning progress here, Duolingo streaks, plateaus, small wins and all. I'll dig into the culture and the people who make it what it is. And I'll share real travel guides from trips I've actually taken, starting with Barcelona, since that city is where a lot of this started for me.

No filler, no recycled top ten lists copied from somewhere else. Just what I've actually learned, actually lived through, and would actually tell a friend.
