Affiliate Disclosure

WHEREAS the Operator of myspanishtravels.com (hereinafter "the Website") participates in certain affiliate programmes; and WHEREAS every reader is entitled to know, fully and in advance, when the Operator stands to receive compensation; NOW, THEREFORE, the Operator hereby makes the following disclosure, in accordance with the Norwegian Marketing Control Act (markedsføringsloven), the Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising issued by the United States Federal Trade Commission (16 C.F.R. Part 255), and every other law that may apply.

  1. Article I. Of the Nature of Affiliate Links

    1. §1.1An affiliate link is a hyperlink to the website of a third party merchant or service (hereinafter "the Partner"), which allows the Partner to recognise that the reader arrived from the Website.
    2. §1.2Where a reader follows such a link and thereafter purchases a subscription, product or service from the Partner, the Partner may pay the Operator a commission.
    3. §1.3Such commission is paid by the Partner out of its own revenue, and the price paid by the reader shall in no event be increased by reason of the reader having arrived through an affiliate link.

  2. Article II. Of the Present Partners

    1. §2.1At the date stated above, the Operator maintains an affiliate relationship with Lingopie, a service for learning languages through television series and films.
    2. §2.2Should any further affiliate relationship be entered into, this Article shall be amended to declare the same before any link under that relationship is published.

  3. Article III. Of the Marking of Affiliate Links

    1. §3.1Every article containing one or more affiliate links shall carry a notice to that effect near its beginning, before the first such link appears.
    2. §3.2Said notice shall apply to every affiliate link, button and banner within that article, and every affiliate link shall be published with the attribute rel="sponsored nofollow", as required by the guidelines of search engines for paid links.
    3. §3.3No link shall be disguised as an editorial reference when it is, in truth, an affiliate link.

  4. Article IV. Of Editorial Independence

    1. §4.1No Partner has any right to review, approve, alter or influence any article, rating, ranking or opinion published upon the Website, and no Partner has been granted any such right.
    2. §4.2The ratings and rankings published upon the Website reflect solely the personal experience and honest judgment of the Operator. Whether a product or service offers an affiliate programme has no bearing whatsoever upon its rating, its position in any list, or the words used to describe it.
    3. §4.3The Operator shall plainly state when a product or service that pays no commission is the better choice, and shall recommend it as such.
    4. §4.4The Operator writes about products and services from personal use. Where a statement rests on research rather than personal use, the article shall say so.

  5. Article V. Of Inquiries

    1. §5.1Any question concerning this disclosure, or concerning any particular link, shall be directed to the Operator at contact@myspanishtravels.com, and shall be answered in good faith.
